THE RANGE ROVER SPORT HYBRID RECHARGEABLE (PHEV) MODEL
The new Range Rover Sport 2021 plug-in hybrid is the most efficient Range Rover Sport. It combines a powerful 300 hp (221 kW) Ingenium four-cylinder gasoline engine with a 143 hp (105 kW) electric motor.
With a full charge, the high-capacity 13 kWh battery provides the vehicle with sufficient all-electric range to carry out most daily urban commutes without polluting emissions. The P400e delivers CO2 emissions of 74 g/km with a fuel economy of up to 3.3 l/100 km. The intelligent system can capture and store energy generated during braking to help recharge the battery.
TWO MODES OF DRIVING TO ADAPT AS NEEDED
Parallel Hybrid Mode: this mode combines gasoline and electricity. In Parallel Hybrid mode, the driver can optimize battery charge or fuel savings using two alternative charge management functions:
SAVE function:
On longer trips, customers can use the SAVE feature to deploy the EV Family only for a specific part of their trip. When approaching crowded metropolitan regions, for example.
PEO function (predictive energy optimization): by entering a destination in the navigation system, the driver activates this function, which uses altitude data for the selected route to intelligently switch between the electric motor and the petrol engine to maximize fuel savings.
EV Mode (100% electric): In EV mode, the P400e can run up to 41 km (26 miles) with no emissions when fully loaded. This driving mode is manually selected with a button on the console and gives the new PHEV a top speed of 137 km/h (85 mph).

THE RANGE ROVER SPORT HYBRID (MHEV) MODEL
The MHEV hybrid vehicle technology uses a belt-driven alternator starter and a 48 V battery. It recovers energy normally lost during braking to store and reuse it during acceleration.
Electricity stored on the new Range Rover Sport 2021 can be used by the alternator starter to provide torque assistance directly to the engine or to power the engine's electric supercharger to boost performance before the conventional turbocharger reaches its maximum power, allowing fluid acceleration.
This system reduces fuel consumption and improves vehicle performance. Combined with other optimizations, the MHEV hybrid vehicle technology significantly reduces CO2 emissions from Ingenium 6-cylinder engines in line compared to previous engines.
